- Quote / Thought For The Day -

“Silence is not only the absence of sound but also stillness of the mind.”

“A creative attitude is the fuel of progress and growth.”

Life - A good story..

A boat docked in a tiny Goan village. A tourist from Mumbai complimented the Goan fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

"Not very long," answered the fisherman.

"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the Mumbaite.

The Goan fisherman explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.

The Mumbaite asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, play guitar, sing a few songs... I have a full life."

The Mumbaite interrupted, "I have an MBA from IIM-A, and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."

"And after that?" asked the Goan.

"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Panjim, or even Mumbai. From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked the Goan.

"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the Mumbaite.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? Well my Friend, That's when it gets really interesting," chuckled the Mumbaite, "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the Goan.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings doing what you like with your buddies."

"With all due respect sir, but that's exactly what I am doing now. So what's the point wasting 25 years?" asked the Goan.

And the moral of the story is? Know where you're going in life. You may already be there.
Life in the present world is indeed a rat race. Many who have qualifications from reputed universities too do not know where they are going in life.
Give it a serious thought, and please don't forget to take charge of your health.

Choice Or Chance

The choices you make today will determine your future. When you make a decision, ask yourself, "Where is this choice going to lead me? How will it affect my life tomorrow, next week, next month, years from now?"

Consider your life purpose, your goals, your direction, and your focus in the choices you make. Learn from your past choices. Some of them worked for you, some of them worked against you.Which choices will enable you to become the person you want to be?

You can spend your time doing the things that will bring you closer to your goals, or you can spend your time seeking immediate comfort and gratification.

The choice is up to you, and your choices will decide your future. A successful and fulfilled life is no more difficult than a life that is unsuccessful and unfulfilled. The people that are successful in life are not luckier than you, they are not more intelligent than you, they are not more trained than you. They are successful because they have chosen to do the things that will make them successful. Not just in the big decisions, but also the small every day, moment to moment decisions that make up living.

Life is made up of choices, not chances. Are you going to let chance circumstances rule your life, or are you going to make your own choices?

Which choices are you making today to decide your future?

Useless Life

A farmer got so old that he could not work the fields anymore. So he would spend the day just sitting on the porch. His son, still working the farm, would look up from time to time and see his father sitting there. "He's of no use any more," the son thought to himself, "he doesn't do anything!"

One day the son got so frustrated by this, that he built a wood coffin, dragged it over to the porch, and told his father to get in. Without saying anything, the father climbed inside.

After closing the lid, the son dragged the coffin to the edge of the farm where there was a high cliff. As he approached the drop, he heard a light tapping on the lid from inside the coffin. He opened it up. Still lying there peacefully, the father looked up at his son. "I know you are going to throw me over the cliff, but before you do, may I suggest something?" "What is it?" replied the son. "Throw me over the cliff, if you like," said the father, "but save this good wood coffin. Your children might need to use it."

HUMOR ....to brighten your day!..

What's the difference between people
who pray in church and those who
pray in casinos?
The ones in the casinos are serious.
When I was young I used to pray for a bike,
then I realized that God doesn't work that way,
so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.
A little boy went up to his father and asked :
" Dad, where did all of my intelligence come from ? "
His father replied :
" Well, son, you must have gotten it from your mother,
because I still have mine. "
Paul's teacher sent a note home to his mother, saying :
"Paul seems to be a very bright boy,
but spends too much of his time thinking about girls. "
The mother wrote back the next day :
" If you find a solution, please advise.
I have the same problem with his father ! "

Why do I have tears in my eyes...

Ask me how many times my heart has been broken
and I will tell you to look in the sky and count the stars...

Days continue to pass, stars continue to shine.
Why do I have tears in my eyes today when she was NEVER mine?

Spirituality does not lie in any particular action. It lies in being what you are. It is 'Being', and remaining rooted in that 'Being'. Then whatever you do becomes spirituality. Spirituality is the vision of the oneness of all beings. You are one with all and there is no one different from you, or separate from you. Understanding and practicing the vision of oneness, you learn to look at your life as a whole and live a whole life.
